Marco Romero and DPK Racing | Americas Secure Top 5 at Homestead

Homestead, Miami, January 22, 2024.- Marco Romero and DPK Racing | Americas completed the first round of the ROK Cup USA Winter Tour in Florida at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex this past weekend with a solid top 5 finish.
With a new engine, a new team, and venturing into a new category, the Venezuelan-born driver took part in the official practice on Thursday, showing good speed in the four sessions and preparing for the heats to come.

On Friday, with an equally hectic schedule, he took part in two practices and the qualifying session before heading to the first heat, which he won, skillfully navigating the wet track conditions in Florida's unique climate. On Saturday, the 13-year-old Romero maintained his momentum, facing a practice, two heats, and the prefinal. In these events, the pilot of kart #271 once again showcased speed in adapting to a more powerful engine, characteristic of the Junior category.

The main event on Sunday, consisting of 23 laps, went well for the young pilot who recently moved up from the Mini to Junior category. After starting in seventh position, he advanced to fourth, engaging in a fierce battle for several laps. Ultimately, he crossed the finish line in fifth place and moved up one position due to a post-race penalty.
The first member of the DPK Racing | Americas team demonstrated competitiveness with the new Fernando Alonso Kart chassis. Now, he will have a few days of preparation for the next upcoming commitment, which is just around the corner, and the second stop of the SKUSA Winter Series on February 9th, 10th, and 11th.
Marco Romero:"It was an interesting weekend here in Homestead. In the final, I started seventh and finished fourth. I am very happy with the result because, believe it or not, it was my first race with the ROK GP Junior engine.
